“When I first approached Ichelon Consulting, my YouTube channel was stuck and despite my own efforts, it was not growing. They created a specific strategy which was based on SEO, and completely evaluating the channel, which worked great and has propelled our YouTube channel to new heights. Because of the channel growth, we have seen new patient consultations coming on a regular basis.”
The 9 numbers to know first
What these numbers mean for your medical weight loss clinic
- Most clinics have thin review profiles. The median medical weight loss clinic has 42 Google reviews and 53.8% have fewer than 50, among the thinnest of the 9 specialties we studied. A clinic that asks every satisfied patient can stand out within months.
- Weekend access is already common. 48.4% of clinics list weekend hours, so it is not a differentiator on its own. Compare yourself with your city: it runs from 32% in Philadelphia to 71.1% in Los Angeles.
- Patients are buying through more channels. 17% of GLP-1 users got the drug from an online provider and 9% from a med spa or aesthetic center. Your Google profile, website and ads compete with telehealth brands, not only with the clinic down the street.
- Compliance is now the marketing risk. The FDA sent warning letters to 30 telehealth companies in March 2026 over compounded GLP-1 marketing. Do not imply a compounded drug is the same as, or approved like, a brand-name product, and say clearly who prescribes and who compounds.
- Lead with medical oversight, not promised results. Fraudulent weight-loss products were the most common fraud in the FTC's 2017 national survey, so buyers are wary. Physician credentials, what the first visit includes and how follow-up works build more trust than before-and-after claims.

Can a weight loss clinic advertise compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?
