How competitive is healthcare SEO in Orlando?

Short answer

Competitive in clinical care, less so in aesthetics. In our 2026 benchmark of 520 Orlando practices, 41% of dental practices have 500 or more Google reviews, the 2nd-highest share of 20 metros. Plastic surgery and med spa profiles, by contrast, run below the national median. Overall Orlando ranks 7th of 20 on review depth.

“They were able to get all my ideas and work with me over a period of three to four months and create this amazing website. It's super customized, very modern, and it incorporates all the elements that I had wanted — the patient portal, nice pictures, a very interactive website, patient reviews. I would highly recommend their company to anyone who wants to make an excellent website.”

How Orlando practices spread across review counts

A median hides how crowded the top of the map results is. So for Orlando we looked at the full spread: what share of practices in each specialty sits under 50 reviews, and what share has passed 500. The table is sorted by that last column.

Dentistry stands out. 41% of Orlando dental practices have 500 or more reviews, against 30.9% nationally; only Las Vegas (43.3%) has a higher share. Just 7.7% of Orlando dental practices are under 50. For SEO, that means the top map results are usually held by practices with years of review history, and a newer practice needs a narrower target: a neighborhood, a service such as implants or clear aligners, or a patient group.

Dermatology follows a similar pattern, with 27.9% past 500 and a median of 200.5 reviews against 125 nationally. Medical weight loss clinics, at a median of 60.5, rank 4th of 20 metros.

Chiropractic and physical therapy are Orlando's most average categories: medians of 120.5 and 120.5 reviews, almost exactly the national 125 and 122. Physical therapy has the flattest top of any Orlando specialty: only 15.2% of clinics have 200 or more reviews, and none has 500. A clinic that passes 200 would sit in that small top group.

Orlando and Miami

Orlando is not a smaller Miami

Florida's two metros in our sample compete on different ground. Miami is an aesthetic market, Orlando a clinical one.

Median Google reviews per practice, September 2026. Orlando n = 520; Miami n = 481.

The plastic surgery gap is the widest in the table: a median of 295 reviews in Miami against 90 in Orlando, which ranks 15th of 20. A plastic surgeon who would start far behind in Miami starts much closer to the pack in Orlando. Dentistry runs the other way, with Orlando (388) ahead of Miami (262).

Access

Weekend hours are a gap in wellness and aesthetics

Wellness and aesthetic clinics are where Orlando lags on weekend access. 52.7% of Orlando IV therapy and wellness clinics list a weekend day on Google, against 65% nationally, the lowest share of 20 metros. Med spas (64.1% vs 74.2%) and dental practices (13.7% vs 25.5%) also trail. Weekend hours do not rank a profile on their own, but they shape whether a practice shows as open when someone searches on a Saturday.

Ratings, as elsewhere, are bunched near the top: Orlando med spas average 4.91 stars and dental practices 4.78. Stars rarely separate Orlando practices; review count, recency and the profile basics do.

What this means for your practice

What this means for your practice

  1. Dental practices: compete narrow. With 41% of peers past 500 reviews, target a neighborhood or a high-value service before chasing "dentist Orlando".
  2. Plastic surgeons and med spas: the field is more open than in Miami. A steady review routine can reach the Orlando median in a realistic time.
  3. Add weekend hours where you can, especially in IV therapy and aesthetics, and keep them accurate on Google.
  4. Get keyword-level cost data before buying ads, since there is no reliable Orlando metro average in our benchmark reports.
  5. Track your gap in months. Your review count, the Orlando median and your monthly pace tell you how long organic will take.

Method

How we know: source, sample, date and limits

Google benchmark: public Google Business Profile data for 520 Orlando practices in 9 specialties, found through Google searches centered on Orlando and collected in September 2026, part of the 20-metro sample behind the State of US Healthcare Marketing 2026. Miami figures come from the same sample. Review-depth index: each specialty's Orlando median divided by its national median; the index is the median of those ratios. The months-to-median figures are our own arithmetic from those medians.

  • No click costs: our 2026 dental, dermatology and IVF benchmark reports do not list Orlando, so we give no paid-search estimate here.
  • Small samples: the Orlando hair restoration group is 18 clinics; treat that row as directional.
  • Review counts measure visibility, not quality of care, and they are one of several inputs to local rankings.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Orlando a competitive market for healthcare SEO?

Moderately, and it depends on the specialty. In our 2026 benchmark of 520 Orlando practices, Orlando ranks 7th of 20 US metros on Google review depth. Dental, dermatology and medical weight loss profiles are well above national norms; plastic surgery, med spas, chiropractic and physical therapy are at or below them.

How many Google reviews do Orlando dentists have?

The median Orlando dental practice in our study has 388 Google reviews, against 319.5 nationally, and 41% have 500 or more, the 2nd-highest share of 20 metros. The sample is 117 Orlando dental practices.

Is Orlando less competitive than Miami?

Overall, slightly: Orlando scores 1.09 on our review-depth index and Miami 1.21. The gap is mostly aesthetic. Miami plastic surgery practices have a median of 295 reviews against 90 in Orlando, while Orlando dental practices are deeper than Miami's.

How long does healthcare SEO take in Orlando?

It depends on how far you are from your specialty's local median. As simple arithmetic, a dental practice adding 15 reviews a month needs about 26 months to reach the Orlando median of 388; a med spa at the same pace needs about 9 months to reach 124. Reviews are one ranking input among several.

What do Google Ads cost in Orlando?

We do not publish an Orlando estimate: our dental, dermatology and IVF benchmark reports have no separate Orlando row, so this article covers organic competition only. Ask for a keyword-level estimate for your services rather than relying on a metro average.

A note on this article: it reports aggregate research and explains marketing practice. It is not legal advice, and cost figures are planning estimates, not guarantees of results.
