Orthopaedic Hospitals on Google in India: 2026 review study
We collected the newest Google reviews of 35 leading orthopaedic hospital brands across seven Indian cities: 1,690 reviews, 1,278 of them with text that we classified by theme. Below: how they compare with the other six specialties and with the national picture, and what that means for the teams who market them.

- The most common complaint theme is staff & bedside manner (22.7% of negative reviews), n = 128 negative reviews (national: 23.0%). Next: wait time & scheduling (18.0%).
- Owners replied to 47.0% of reviews on average, the 2nd lowest of the seven specialties (national 60.5%); 52.9% of brands replied to at least half (n = 34 profiles with review data).
- The median profile has 1,049 Google reviews and adds about 11.9 a month (national: 1,910 and 22.9). Average rating 4.75★, n = 35.

How orthopaedic hospitals compare with other specialties
Orthopaedic hospitals average 4.75★ on Google (the 3rd lowest of the seven specialties, below the national 4.78★). Across the seven specialties, averages sit in a narrow band, from 4.67★ (multispeciality hospitals) to 4.89★ (dental clinics), so the rating on its own rarely separates one leading profile from another. Volume and pace do: the median orthopaedic hospital here has 1,049 reviews (the lowest of the seven specialties) and adds about 11.9 a month (the lowest of the seven specialties).

What reviews of orthopaedic hospitals talk about
Of 1,278 reviews with text, the most common theme is staff & bedside manner (39.7%), followed by results (27.2%). Compared with the national mix, the theme that stands out most is before/after outcome: 21.0% here against 7.9% across all 245 brands.
What negative reviews are about
10.0% of reviews with text were negative, 89.2% positive and 0.8% neutral. Among the 128 negative reviews, staff & bedside manner leads with 22.7%, then wait time & scheduling (18.0%).
What this means for marketing
For owners and marketing heads of orthopaedic hospitals, the numbers point to a short list of priorities:
- Fix the most common complaint firstStaff & bedside manner accounts for 22.7% of negative reviews (n = 128). Treat the front desk and patient coordinators as part of marketing: script the first call and the reception handover, and train the people who reply to reviews to acknowledge the person before the problem.
- Reply to more reviewsOwners replied to 47.0% of reviews on average, below the national 60.5%, and 47.1% of brands replied to fewer than half (n = 34). Replies are read by everyone comparing profiles. Reply to every review, take complaints offline quickly, and keep treatment details out of public replies.
- Set a review-request routine against your peersThe median leading profile here adds about 11.9 reviews a month (national 22.9). If yours adds fewer, a consistent post-visit request by WhatsApp or SMS, sent to every patient without incentives or filtering, closes the gap over months. Google’s policies prohibit incentivised and selectively solicited reviews.
- Link every profile to a relevant page82.9% of these leading profiles list a website (n = 35), below the national 96.3%. A profile without a website link loses the visitors who want to check doctors, facilities and process before they call.
- Use what reviewers already valueFor orthopaedic hospitals, reviewers describe the change they experienced. Collect consented patient-experience stories and recovery-journey content, within ASCI and medical-ethics rules, rather than relying on generic claims.
