How healthcare brands in Mumbai compare with other Indian cities
Healthcare brands in Mumbai average 4.86★ on Google (the highest of the seven cities, above the national 4.78★). Across the seven cities, averages sit in a narrow band, from 4.73★ (Kolkata) to 4.86★ (Mumbai), so the rating on its own rarely separates one leading profile from another. What reviews of healthcare brands in Mumbai talk about
Of 1,317 reviews with text, the most common theme is staff & bedside manner (48.1%), followed by results (30.0%). Compared with the national mix, the theme that stands out most is before/after outcome: 9.7% here against 7.9% across all 245 brands.
What negative reviews are about
3.5% of reviews with text were negative, 96.1% positive and 0.4% neutral. Among the 46 negative reviews, results leads with 19.6%, then price & value (17.4%). The sharpest difference from the national pattern is upselling: 17.4% of negatives here, 6.2% nationally.
What this means for marketing
For owners and marketing heads of healthcare brands in Mumbai, the numbers point to a short list of priorities:
- Fix the most common complaint firstResults accounts for 19.6% of negative reviews (n = 46). Set expectations before treatment in your content and in counselling scripts: timelines, follow-up and what a realistic outcome looks like. Disappointment is easier to prevent than to answer in a public reply.
- Watch upsellingIt makes up 17.4% of negative reviews here against 6.2% nationally. Check that ads and landing pages promise what actually happens in the consultation room. Upselling complaints usually describe a gap between the advertised offer and the plan the patient was given.
- Keep replying, and improve the repliesOwners replied to 62.5% of reviews on average, above the national 60.5% (n = 35), and 37.1% of brands replied to fewer than half. The gap to close now is quality: a personal reply to each negative review within a day or two, an offer to resolve it offline, and no treatment details in public.
- Set a review-request routine against your peersThe median leading profile here adds about 22.3 reviews a month (national 22.9). If yours adds fewer, a consistent post-visit request by WhatsApp or SMS, sent to every patient without incentives or filtering, closes the gap over months. Google’s policies prohibit incentivised and selectively solicited reviews.
- Link every profile to a relevant page91.4% of these leading profiles list a website (n = 35), below the national 96.3%. A profile without a website link loses the visitors who want to check doctors, facilities and process before they call.
