NAP Intelligence — citation-parity across 40+ Indian healthcare directories.
NAP Intelligence is Angryturtle's continuous audit of every citation of a listing's Name / Address / Phone across 40+ Indian healthcare directories. Detects mismatches before Google demotes the listing. Us-vs-competitor comparison per directory.
How it works.
The citation graph is Google's back-channel truth-check. When the algorithm decides which listing to promote in a local pack for "dermatologist in Gurgaon", one of the strongest single signals is whether the same clinic's Name, Address, and Phone are said the same way across the wider internet. A mismatch — a suffix present in one directory and absent in another, a floor number in one and not another, a landline versus mobile split — reads as ambiguity, and ambiguity is a rank-suppressor. NAP Intelligence is the engine that treats every directory as a data-point in that truth-vote and reports the deltas before Google acts on them.
- Directory crawl. Justdial, Practo, Lybrate, Sulekha, IndiaMART, IMA, NABH, Bing, Apple Maps, Facebook, and 30+ more re-scanned daily to weekly.
- Field-level extraction. Business name, street, locality, city, PIN, primary phone, secondary phones, hours, category pulled from every found citation.
- Master-record diff. Every citation compared field-by-field to the GBP master record; any variance flagged with severity — cosmetic, meaningful, or ranking-threatening.
- Competitor overlay. Top three competing listings for the primary category checked on the same directory — presence, completeness, review count.
- Fix queue. Every mismatch becomes a task — API push where the directory allows, else a queued manual correction with copy-paste ready.
- Consistency score. A single 0-100 rolled into the Rank OS Consistency dimension so operators see NAP health inside the same portfolio view.
Why it matters for
Indian healthcare.
Healthcare citations carry compliance load a generic NAP tool cannot see. On IMA and NABH registries, the doctor's name has to match the MCI / NMC-registered name verbatim — an "MBBS, MD" appended in Practo but absent in IMA can, in some state councils, invalidate the citation itself under NMC Registered Medical Practitioner Regulations 2023. Address changes on IVF clinics have to reconcile with the ART Act 2021 facility registration on the National ART Registry — a directory pointing at the old address is not merely a NAP miss, it is a regulator-facing inconsistency. Phone-number scans also enforce DPDP Act 2023 awareness — a stale number pointing to a former partner or a decommissioned line risks patient data ending up outside the current data-fiduciary boundary. NAP Intelligence flags all three categories.
How ICG uses this.
NAP Intelligence is one of the six working modules on Angryturtle. In the ICG-managed portfolio of 143+ Indian healthcare listings, the average listing had 11.3 NAP mismatches at intake; the average listing after ninety days sits at 1.4. The Us-vs-Competitor view alone surfaces, on average, six directories per listing where a competing clinic is claimed and the client is not — every one of which becomes a fill-the-gap task that closes in the same week. Directories reporting a change in the last 24 hours land at the top of the next-morning task queue, so an operator sees the same-day deltas rather than a monthly summary.

Frequently asked questions.
Which Indian directories does NAP Intelligence scan?
Forty-plus that actually matter for healthcare in India. Google Business Profile, Google Maps, Justdial, Practo, Lybrate, Sulekha, IndiaMART, IMA registry, NABH registry, Bing, Apple Maps, Facebook, and category-specific directories for IVF, dental, dermatology, orthopaedics, and oncology. The list is re-checked quarterly against actual citation-flow data, not held static from 2020.
How much NAP inconsistency is too much?
Any single mismatch is worth fixing. Google reads the citation graph as a truth-vote — an address with three variants across ten directories is a lower-trust signal than an address with one variant across ten directories. In the ICG portfolio, listings above 90% NAP consistency rank a full 1.4 grid positions higher on branded near-me queries than listings at 70-80%.
How often does NAP Intelligence re-scan?
Every 24 hours for high-priority directories, weekly for the long-tail set. When a directory reports a changed field, the delta appears on the Angryturtle dashboard the next morning with a one-click fix path — either an API update where the directory supports it, or a queued manual task with the exact copy-paste correction.
Does NAP Intelligence compare us to competitors?
Yes — a per-directory us-vs-competitor view. Operators see, for every directory, whether the listing is present, complete, and consistent, and whether the top three competing listings for the same primary category are present or absent. A directory where competitors are listed and the client is not becomes an immediate fill-the-gap task.
