TL;DR — six findings on Indian IVF digital performance
- IVF is the highest-view-volume healthcare specialty on YouTube with a median day-30 view count of 4,180 per video — the strongest organic YouTube pull outside dermatology.
- Review velocity is the sector's biggest leak — average 0.48 reviews per week per clinic. Recovery from a single adverse review takes months, filtering out patients before the first consult call.
- Average rating sits at 3.54 across the audited clinics, driven down by unanswered reviews rather than genuine service failure. Clinics that lift response rate above 60 percent typically add 0.6-0.8 stars inside two quarters.
- AI Overviews now appear on 55-65 percent of informational IVF queries in September 2026, with clinic-authored content cited on roughly 12 percent of those Overviews when the page carries a named-clinician byline.
- Organic search CPQL sits well below paid CPQL in Tier-1 metros for programmes running for at least nine months, with a longer ramp. For the paid benchmark, see the CPQL dataset (IVF median Rs 1,180 ICG vs Rs 2,400 market).
- Clinics that ship weekly long-form YouTube featuring the on-camera clinician grow subscriber-driven consult inquiries 3-4x faster than clinics without a doctor-led video programme.

Six numbers to anchor the report
Methodology
This report aggregates three independent data streams. The GBP stream comes from the Angryturtle 328-profile healthcare portfolio and covers 28 actively-managed Indian IVF and fertility clinic listings audited across 14 dimensions between 1 January and 31 August 2026. The YouTube stream comes from the YODA 8,749-video catalogue and covers 1,138 fertility videos from seven Indian fertility-focused channels tracked between 1 March 2025 and 31 August 2026. The search-visibility stream comes from the ICG Search Intelligence Engine (SIE) 155-property dataset and covers 12 fertility clinic web properties tracked continuously in Google Search Console.
Anonymisation. No clinic names, doctor names, addresses, phone numbers, patient identifiers or reviewer identities appear in this report. Every figure is a specialty-level or cohort-level aggregate.
Coverage. The 28 clinic GBPs sit across New Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and a tail of tier-2 metros. The 12 SIE properties skew toward metro clinics with content programmes running for at least 9 months. The 1,138 videos cover long-form clinician explainers, patient-journey narratives, procedure walkthroughs, and post-transfer guidance content.
What this report does not claim. It is not a national market share study. It is not a per-clinic ranking. It is not a success-rate report — treatment outcomes are outside the scope of a marketing-performance benchmark and would be inappropriate to publish in aggregate. Every figure describes marketing operations, not clinical outcomes.
Finding 1 · YouTube is the highest-leverage discovery channel for Indian IVF
The numbers: median day-30 view count 4,180 across 1,138 fertility videos, average retention 51 percent (above the healthcare-sample median of 42 percent), median subscribers gained per long-form video 47.
Fertility content on YouTube performs above every specialty in the catalogue except dermatology. The mechanism is intent — a patient considering IVF spends between four and twelve weeks in research mode before booking a consult, and YouTube is where the meaningful part of that research happens. Text pages answer specific questions; video builds trust in the clinician the patient is considering committing to for a six-to-nine-month treatment journey. Clinics that ship weekly on-camera clinician content build that trust at scale; clinics without a video programme rely on the consult call to do all the trust work in a single conversation, which is a much slower funnel.
Finding 2 · Review velocity is the sector's structural leak
The numbers: average 0.48 reviews per week per clinic, response rate 37.4 percent across the 28 audited clinics, average rating 3.54.
The low velocity is what makes the average rating stubborn. A clinic averaging half a review per week takes twenty weeks to earn ten fresh reviews — the minimum volume needed to move a visible rating meaningfully. That means any adverse review sits at the top of the profile for months. Combined with a 37 percent response rate, unanswered adverse reviews compound into a permanent negative signal in the Maps ranking model. The fix is procedural, not clinical: an automated post-consult review-request flow (SMS or WhatsApp inside 24 hours) plus a policy-safe response template for every incoming review inside 72 hours.
Finding 3 · AI Overviews are appearing on the majority of informational fertility queries
The numbers: AI Overview appearance rate on tracked informational IVF queries — "IVF success rate by age" 65 percent, "difference between IVF and IUI" 63 percent, "IVF cost breakdown" 58 percent, "what to expect during embryo transfer" 55 percent, "PCOS and fertility treatment options" 61 percent. Clinic-authored content cited in AIO on roughly 12 percent of those Overviews where the page carries a named-clinician byline.
The trajectory matters. Informational fertility queries were showing AI Overviews at under 30 percent appearance rates in January 2026 — by September the majority now render AIO. Clinics that started AIO-oriented content programmes in Q1 2026 are already collecting citation share; clinics that wait until 2027 will be trying to earn citations against pages that have accumulated eight to twelve months of citation momentum.
Finding 4 · Description depth caps AIO citation eligibility
The numbers: across the 28 IVF clinic GBPs, only 34 percent filled the 750-character description field. Clinics that filled the full field showed 2.1x the AIO readiness score of clinics at the minimum threshold.
A short description forces Google's model to guess what specific fertility pathways the clinic emphasises. That guess is usually good enough to hold the current rank; it is rarely good enough to earn the clinic a citation on informational queries such as "does the clinic offer donor-egg IVF" or "which clinics do PGT-A testing in Delhi". Every clinic in the sample that filled the description with a specific list of pathways, technologies, and specialties saw AIO readiness lift measurably inside two months.

Finding 5 · Search visibility is a long ramp with a durable payoff
The numbers: the 12 SIE-tracked fertility properties averaged 6.4x organic click growth from Q1 to Q3 2026 when a structured content programme was running for the full period, compared with 1.3x growth on properties without a programme.
The organic ramp for fertility is longer than for most healthcare specialties because the informational corpus is deep and the intent moments are spread across many query types (understanding fertility, choosing between IUI/IVF/ICSI, cost breakdowns, success rates, side-effects, post-transfer guidance). A programme covering all of that from a standing start takes six to nine months to compound. Clinics running programmes for a year or more are collecting organic-only CPQL well below paid CPQL in the same catchment.
Finding 6 · The best clinics run a stacked Angryturtle-YODA-SIE programme
The pattern: in the sub-cohort of six IVF clinics running all three programmes concurrently for nine months or more, the median GBP health score sat at 78, median day-30 YouTube view count at 6,200, and organic click growth at 8x — meaningfully above the specialty medians on every axis.
The compounding effect is real. GBP health drives Maps discovery. YouTube drives subscriber-based recurring discovery. SIE-led content drives informational-query discovery. Each channel feeds the others — a video with an AIO-cited companion article on the same domain lifts both the video's carousel position and the article's citation share. Clinics running only one of the three programmes will get one lane of growth; clinics running all three see the three lanes reinforce each other.
What this means for fertility marketing leaders
Four operating decisions.
1 · Fix review velocity before anything else
The single highest-ROI investment in the sample. A 24-hour post-consult review-request flow (SMS or WhatsApp) plus a policy-safe response template is a two-week build that lifts the visible GBP rating by 0.6-0.8 stars inside two quarters.
2 · Commit to weekly on-camera clinician YouTube for a year
IVF has the second-highest median view count of any healthcare specialty on YouTube. The programmes that shipped weekly for 12 consecutive weeks grew subscribers 6.4x faster than monthly programmes. Weekly cadence is the input; subscriber-driven consult inquiries are the output.
3 · Fill the GBP description with specific pathways
A 750-character description naming the specific IVF, IUI, ICSI, PGT-A, donor-egg and fertility-preservation pathways doubles the AIO readiness score. It is a two-hour task per clinic and it compounds for years.
4 · Stack all three channels — do not choose
The clinics with the best digital performance in the sample ran GBP audit, YouTube programme, and SIE-led content in parallel. Each channel makes the other two more efficient.
